The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies program provides students with a well-rounded, liberal studies education. Program structure gives students the flexibility to customize their degree around a theme, topic of interest or a track. A major in Interdisciplinary Studies brings together two concentration areas into an integrated and personalized program of study. Concentrations are chosen from the many fields of study offered at TTU. In their last semester, each student completes a culminating project where the two concentration areas are brought together in an extensive research thesis or real-world project. This capstone experience offers the opportunity to draw from and integrate the knowledge gained in both areas.
The degree program and the courses that comprise it are offered through a cooperative development and delivery model among TBR institutions. The model provides a platform for TBR institutions to share valuable intellectual resources which enrich program offerings.
As an online student, you gain access to highly-qualified faculty from both the campus where you are studying to earn your degree as well as other institutions across the TBR system. You gain exposure to a wide range of opinions, philosophies, perspectives and experiences that you might not otherwise obtain. The students in your classes are also from other institutions across the TBR system which further contributes to a unique online learning experience.
This program is ideally suited for adult students who have completed an associate's degree or those who have earned a substantial number of college credits from other institutions and are interested in completing their degree.
