Overview

Established in 1969, Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) serves the educational needs of a seven-county area of northwest Tennessee adjacent to or near the Mississippi River. The college offers associate degrees, technical and academic certificates, honors, and international studies programs. Currently over 2,800 students are enrolled at the college. Students from all walks of life attend DSCC. While most of students begin their college career immediately upon their high school graduation, a number of DSCC students are returning to the classroom as adult learners. Average age of all students is 24. 

Dyersburg State holds the distinction of being recognized as a 2015 Military Friendly® higher education institution for exemplary practices in recruiting and supporting post-military students. 

The college has an open admissions policy and offers credit for work and life experiences through Prior Learning Assessment (PLA).
